Leading Housebuilder Spreads Festive Cheer

Leading Northampton-based developer Barratt and David Wilson Homes has donated £6,000 to the Northampton Hope Centre to help support the work they do to tackle homelessness. The donation, which was matched by parent company Barratt Developments to make £6,000, will now go towards the charity’s outreach work combatting poverty and homelessness across the county. Their work helps people experiencing the most acute problems of disadvantage, exclusion and marginalisation. As well as giving practical support, they focus on helping people to help themselves, providing support and services that will enable individuals to take back control of their own lives, and campaign with them against the causes of their disadvantage. Noo Jarvill, Corporate Fundraiser at Northampton Hope Centre, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Barratt and David Wilson Homes and are completely overwhelmed by your generosity. Without support like this we would be unable to help those who..

So much more than Napkins…...

Tablescaping is the latest lockdown phenomenon, and at no time will it be more pertinent than over the coming festive month! It’s the idea that you dress your table as if it’s an artwork to be admired, by visiting guests or insta-hungry image hunters. Whether you have chosen to use a grand flower arrangement or second-hand mis-matched crockery, the way you’ve styled your table is more important than ever. The hashtag ‘Tablescape’ has 1.2 million posts on Instagram. This trend has been driven by a year of social distancing and unlimited screen time. Whilst we’ve been forced to work from home, our focus on our interiors has never been greater, as people have sought to prettify their immediate surroundings to make them cosier and more restful, creating a sanctuary from the madness we find ourselves experiencing in the outside world.  Tablescaping is so much more than napkins, plates of foods..

New planning laws good news for Northamptonshire homeowners

News that new extensions will be fast-tracked as part of changes to the planning laws will be welcomed by homeowners in Northamptonshire. That’s the view of Adrian Timbers, Sales and Marketing Manager of T&K Home Improvements in Wellingborough. The new laws, which were announced by Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government Robert Jenrick, come into force from September and, while applicants must continue to consider the impact on their neighbours, will speed up the process of approving extensions. With the relaxation of planning laws to allow attached houses an extension up to six metres and detached houses one up to eight coming into force last year, the news will make extensions such as conservatories, glass extensions and orangeries even more attractive. “The new laws are good news for homeowners who want a conservatory or orangery but have been put off in the past with the usual one-two..
